We have SQL cluster hosting 30+ SQL instances with tera bytes of data, - backing up via DPM server (Windows 2019 with DPM 2019 latest UR). DPM is creating shadow copies on Data and log volumes of cluster till the express full backups running.
For example - An instance having 5 TB of data volume, 1.6 TB was occupied by volume shadow copy which was hidden and making confusion with size discrepancy. Later it cleaned up itself and space was reclaimed - now DPM is creating shadow copies on other volumes one by one.
My question is - is this default behavior of DPM as we noticed this first time due to size discrepancy. Also, can this be customized to avoid space crunches ?
Thank you.
